Arthur Fery vs Cruz Hewitt prediction

Arthur Fery made his long-awaited return to the tour at the Cincinnati Open, following his incredible run to the semi-finals of Wimbledon as a wildcard. He won his first match back against James Duckworth, mounting a comeback in the deciding set tiebreak to squeeze past the Australian. He then faced another Aussie in Alex de Minaur, and despite fighting back admirably in the second set after a rain delay, Fery would go on to lose in straights. He now hopes for a deep run in Winston-Salem ahead of the US Open.

His opponent is Cruz Hewitt. The 17-year-old notched up his second tour-level win after coming from a set down to beat Sebastian Gorzny. Hewitt struggled in the first set but found his level to win 1-6 7-6 (3) 6-4 after two hours and 10 minutes.

Fery is much further along in his development and has already demonstrated that he can compete with elite opposition. Hewitt’s fighting qualities could make individual sets more competitive than expected, but Fery is a firm favourite.
