THE TEAM NEWS
ENGLAND
Captain: Eoin Morgan
- England come into this T20 match following a disappointing display in an ODI against Ireland in Malahide in which they stuttered to a four-wicket victory and they will have to raise their game against Pakistan.
- They have called Sussex batsmen Phil Salt into the squad for this match after Dawid Malan was forced to pull out through injury and they will not be fielding their strongest line-up as the likes of Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes will not feature here after their IPL stints.
- The focus will be on Jofra Archer once again coming into this game and he will be keen to impress while his friend and Sussex team-mate Chris Jordan will come into the side for this match to boost their bowling options.
PAKISTAN
Captain: Sarfaraz Ahmed
- Pakistan have started their tour of England in fine form having won two one-day matches against Kent and Northamptonshire in emphatic fashion, and they then beat Leicestershire in a T20 match by 58 runs.
- The batting line-up in particular has been in excellent form as they smashed 200 in the T20, 358/7 in their opening one-day match, and then chased down Northants 273/6 with nine overs to spare with the loss of just two wickets so they have adjusted to English conditions well.
- Babar Azam smashed a stunning century against Leicestershire in the T20 match and they may well be tempted to go with the same team that lined up in that match for this one-off T20 match.
THE PREDICTION
England come into this one-off T20 international against Pakistan with a somewhat experimental line-up and they will be keen to improve on their disappointing display in the ODI against Ireland on Friday. They face a Pakistan side that has looked impressive in their three white-ball matches against County sides, but both will face a major step up in quality based on recent matches. Pakistan are not experimenting with their line-up at all and they will be at full strength as they look to build some momentum. England however are missing several key men and that could see them fall short against the tourists here.
