Aoi Ito vs Oksana Selekhmeteva prediction

Aoi Ito is set to make her first ever appearance in the main draw of the US Open. She suffered a back injury towards the end of 2025, which kept her out for a long period. Her ranking dropped to outside the world’s top 300, and she has struggled to replicate her results from last year. Ito faces Oksana Selekehmeteva in the first-round.

The Spaniard does have some encouraging form behind her heading into this Grand Slam, as she reached the semi-finals at a WTA 125k event in Philadelphia. That was her best result of the season, though she did progress to the quarter-finals of the ATX Open earlier in the campaign.

They faced each other for the first time earlier this month in the qualifying stages of the Canadian Open, with Ito winning in straight sets. Selekhmeteva will be out for revenge and can take confidence from the level she showed at her previous event.
