Antonia Ruzic vs Madison Keys prediction
Antonia Ruzic came from a set down to beat Lois Boisson in the first-round of the Canadian Open. The Croatian was also down a break in the decider, but she quickly took control to win 4-6 6-1 6-3. She now has nine victories on the hard courts this season, along with nine losses. Ruzic performed strongly at a previous WTA 1000 event in Dubai earlier in the campaign, reaching the quarter-finals.
She will now play Madison Keys, with the American receiving a bye in round one. The 2025 Australian Open champion did not get her North American swing off to a strong start as she lost her opening match at the Washington Open to Liudmila Samsonova, despite winning the first set. Keys won another title at the Eastbourne Open in June, but she has now dropped outside of the world’s top 20.
These two played each other for the first time at Roland Garros this year, with Keys winning 6-4 6-4. Ruzic will hope to make this a closer encounter, but Keys remains a firm favourite.
