Antonia Ruzic vs Jennifer Brady prediction

Antonia Ruzic headed into the Dubai Tennis Championships on the back of four losses and was then defeated in the first stage of qualifying. However, the Croatian entered the main draw as a lucky loser and suddenly found form, winning four straight matches to make her second quarter-final of the season and her first at a WTA 1000 event. The 22-year-old threatened an upset against Elina Svitolina as she took the first set but would eventually lose in three. Ruzic will look to carry on the momentum from that run with a strong showing here. 

She takes on Jennifer Brady. The 2021 Australian Open finalist is back in action after more than two years out of professional action. She made her return in San Diego on the ITF circuit, reaching the semi-finals. Brady is ranked outside of the top 700 in the world.

This should be a comfortable win for Ruzic in the first-round, with Brady short of top-level match practice.
