Anouk Koevermans vs Caty McNally prediction

Anouk Koevermans qualified for her first ever Grand Slam title as she won all of her matches without dropping a set. The 22-year-old is ranked outside the world’s top 200, though she did win an ITF title earlier this season in Porto. 

Her first-round opponent at Flushing Meadows is Caty McNally. The American’s best result at the US Open was a round three appearance six years ago, aged just 18 at the time. One of her highlights of the campaign was a round-of-16 appearance in Madrid, her best result at a WTA 1000 event this season. McNally did beat Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova at the Canadian Open earlier this month, and she also challenged Alexandra Eala in the next round of the tournament.

McNally can still be a dangerous player to face on this surface, and she is likely to have too much quality for Koevermans in the first-round.
