Anna Kalinskaya vs Amanda Anisimova prediction

Since finishing runner-up at Wimbledon, Amanda Anisimova has competed at the Canadian Open, going out in the round of 16 against Elina Svitolina after beating both Lulu Sun and Emma Raducanu. So far in Cincinnati, USA’s Anisimova has yet to hit a ball in anger after progressing through vs Leolia Jeanjean courtesy of a walkover.

Anna Kalinskaya made it the final of the Washington Open back in late July and she too was defeated by Svitolina in Montreal, when a win would’ve seen her take on Anisimova in the following round. The 28th seed came through a three-setter last time out against another opponent from USA in Peyton Stearns.

Kalinskaya’s powerful baseline style makes her a threat on the hard court, but Anisimova ground strokes could well force Kalinskaya into errors. Anisimova has never lost against Kalinskaya and backing that run to continue has to be favoured.
