Anna Bondar vs Renata Zarazua prediction

Anna Bondar arrives in Seoul after reaching the second-round of the US Open. The Hungarian comfortably beat qualifier Lucie Havlickova 6-3 6-3 and then opened up a lead in the deciding set against 2025 Australian Open champion Madison Keys in round two. However, despite having five match points, Keys would fight back to win. Bondar’s standout result of 2026 came at the WTA 250 event in Hamburg two months ago, where she reached her third consecutive final at the tournament. She edged past Elina Avanesyan in the semi-final, but she was unable to win the title after a defeat to Tamara Korpatsch. 

Renata Zarazua is in considerably poorer form. Her latest appearance was in Guadalajara, where she lost to Caroline Dolehide in the opening round. Before that, Zarazua lost a deciding set tiebreak to Polina Iatcenko in the first-round of the US Open, having also suffered early defeats in Monterrey and Cincinnati. At WTA level, her best run of the campaign came at the 250 event in Memphis with a run to the semi-finals.

Bondar will be viewed as the slight favourite for this one.
