Anna Bondar vs Kamilla Rakhimova prediction
Anna Bondar failed to make it out of qualifying in Dubai as she lost in straight sets to Moyuka Uchijima. Her best result of the season so far remains a quarter-final appearance in Hobart, but Bondar’s results in the other tournaments have not been particularly inspiring. Bondar reached the second-round of the Australian Open last month, losing to Zeynep Sonmez.
She will hope for a deep run in Austin but must overcome the threat of Kamilla Rakhimova in the first-round. Rakhimova is not in the best of form, with four losses from her last five matches. She only entered the main draw in Dubai last week as a lucky loser and while she did push Iva Jovic to a third set, she fell away in the decider.
Neither player has been able to get a run together in their last few matches, and this could be a slugfest, with both desperately seeking a main draw victory.
