Anna Bondar vs Ella Seidel prediction

Anna Bondar will aim to secure her first main draw win of 2026 against lucky loser Ella Seidel.

The Hungarian progressed through qualifying in Brisbane but fell at the first hurdle and the world number 73 faces a tricky start in Hobart too.

Ella Seidel sits just 11 places below the 28-year-old and is a German hoping for big things in the next 12 months, having cracked the top 100.

This will be their third meeting with both players achieving a win apiece. Those matches were on clay with Bondar winning 7-5 6-4 in their most recent clash in Rome qualifying last year.

This is a very tough call all things considered, but Seidel does have the better record on hardcourts and the 20-year-old will be just as hungry to claim that win after a disappointing loss to Sonay Kartal in Auckland.

It's likely to be tight but the surface may be significant with Seidel taking advantage of the faster conditions.
