Anna Blinkova is coming off the back of two second-round exits as her grass court season continues. She made a decent start at the Libema Open as she easily beat Katerina Siniakova but then came unstuck against Ekaterina Alexandrova. She then competed at Nottingham but lost to Clara Tasuon in round two after defeating Kamilla Rakhimova. Her best finishes this season were two quarter-finals in Linz and Austin.
Marie Bouzkova is yet to play a match on grass this season until now. Her last outing was at Roland Garros, where she reached the third-round before a straight sets loss to eventual champion Coco Gauff. Bouzkova has struggled to make a deep run at an event since reaching the quarter-finals in Brisbane at the start of the year.
The head-to-head is locked at 2-2, but they have not played against each for more than two years while this will be their first match on grass. Bouzkova is ranked over 30 places higher and did reach the quarter-finals of Wimbledon three years ago, which highlights her capabilities on the surface. She will be expected to make it through.
