Anna Blinkova vs Ekaterina Alexandrova prediction

Anna Blinkova recovered from a difficult start to beat Mananchaya Sawangkaew in the first-round of the Cincinnati Open. The Russian won just one game in the first set, but she quickly took control to win 1-6 6-2 6-3 after one hour and 45 minutes. Blinkova also came from a set down to defeat Eva Lys in the final stage of qualifying. 

She plays Ekaterina Alexandrova in the second-round. Alexandrova enjoyed a resurgence in Toronto as she reached her second quarter-final since February, and her first of the campaign at 1000 level. This run included a magnificent victory in three sets over world number one Aryna Sabalenka. It’s been a tough season for Alexandrova, but she has been able to pick up more victories over the past few weeks.

Alexandrova leads the WTA head-to-head 1-0 after a straight sets win at the Libema Open last year. She will be viewed as the firm favourite to reach the third-round in Cincinnati.
