Anna Blinkova vs Daria Kasatkina prediction

Anna Blinkova impressed in the first round as she dominated against Caroline Dolehide 6-4 6-1 and that will have given her plenty of confidence ahead of this encounter.

After being eliminated in her first match in Washington in the qualifiers and in the first round at Wimbledon, the win over Dolehide was a welcome boost.

She now takes on Daria Kasatkina who is seeded at number 30 in Montreal and has a reasonable record at the tournament. She has reached the quarter-finals twice in the tournament with the most recent coming in 2023 so she will take heart from that.

Kasatkina is playing her first tennis since Wimbledon and will be hoping to end the year well with this North American swing of the tour. Her form in the Sunshine Double earlier in the year was below par and she will need to raise her game here in what is a potential banana skin.
