Anna Blinkova vs Anna Kalinskaya prediction

Anna Blinkova last featured at the WTA 125k event in Philadelphia, but she lost in the first-round to Anastasia Zakharova. The Russian did qualify for the Cincinnati Open, and won her opening match against Mananchaya Sawangkaew, before a three set loss to Ekaterina Alexandrova. Blinkova has failed to advance beyond the second-round of a WTA tournament this season, while she has also lost 26 of her 46 matches.

Her first-round opponent is compatriot Anna Kalinskaya. The 27-year-old has been unable to make a key breakthrough on the tour this year, despite some encouraging signs. She made a run to the French Open quarter-finals, but then suffered a surprising loss to Maja Chwalinska. Kalinskaya also reached the last eight in Washington but was then forced to withdraw from her most recent event in Cincinnati, despite being just one game away from defeat to Sorana Cirstea in the third-round.  

If she is fit, Kalinskaya will be expected to win in dominant fashion against Blinkova.
