Anna Blinkova savoured a main draw victory for the first time since the US Open as she defeated Chloe Paquet in straight sets.

The Russian was solid throughout as she posted a 6-4 6-4 success over the qualifier.

Next up, the world number 95 faces Anna Bondar after the sixth seed cruised to a 6-2 6-2 victory over Sijia Wei. 

This will be their second meeting with Blinkova winning in straight sets on the clay of Charleston back in 2023. 

That may not have much significance in this clash given the different conditions and you also have to consider Bondar is the more consistent performer of late.
