Ann Li vs Elena Rybakina prediction

Ann Li progressed to the next round in Toronto after a straight sets win over Kayla Cross. Li was broken when serving for the first set but still took the lead after edging clear in the tiebreak. She created further chances in the second set as she went on to win 7-6 (2) 6-3 after one hour and 27 minutes. Her best result of the season was a semi-final appearance in Strasbourg. 

The American now faces world number two Elena Rybakina for a place in the round-of-16. Rybakina was not at her best but managed to get past Daria Kasatkina in three sets. It was a scrappy display from the two-time Grand Slam champion, as she committed 58 unforced errors and 16 double faults, though she did win 6-3 5-7 6-4.

Rybakina has not been close to her best for quite some time now, and she will have to improve against the consistent Li in the next round.
