Anhelina Kalinina vs Kimberly Birrell Prediction

Anhelina Kalinina has been in fine form in Brisbane this week and the 27-year-old Ukrainian will be hoping she can maintain this run. The world number 55 played particularly well in the second round beating fifth seed Diana Shnaider and then she romped to victory in the round of 16 on Thursday beating Yue Yuan 6-1 6-4.

She has been effective with her serve but she is returning really well and creating many chances to break her opponents. That will be key here once again if she is to have success against her opponent Kimberly Birrell.

The 26-year-old Australian is enjoying a fabulous week herself on home soil and she will be hoping to get past Kalinina to make it through to the semis. She produced a similar upset herself as she overcame second seed Emma Navarro in the second round and then beat Anastasia Potapova in the round of 16. Her all-round game has been excellent too so it will be interesting to see who can impose their style here.

Neither are dominant servers and both are creating plenty of break points so we expect to see plenty of swings in this one. It could very well go the distance however and we do not see one player dominating so consider the total game market here and consider the overs.
