Anca Todoni vs Qinwen Zheng Prediction

Now just outside the top 100, Anca Todoni has made some significant strides over the past year, reaching the second round at Wimbledon in her first ever appearance in the main draw of a Grand Slam, while she also won two Challenger Tour titles, albeit on clay.

The 20-year-old Romanian is more comfortable on the red dirt but she has shown herself to be promising on hard courts, qualifying for the recent Brisbane International whilst also navigating her way through three rounds of qualifying to reach the Australian Open for the first time.

At a career-high of number five in the world, Qinwen Zheng – runner-up at the Australian Open last year – is many onlookers’ tip to go one better this year. Olympic champion last year, as well as a WTA Finals runner-up on her debut in that tournament, Zheng has never been short of self-belief but now has the results to back it up.

This is an excellent opportunity for Todoni to test herself against one of the world’s best, but she is likely to be outclassed.

Anca Todoni vs Qinwen Zheng Tip: Qinwen Zheng to win 2-0
