Anastasia Potapova vs Zeynep Sonmez prediction

Anastasia Potapova continued her fine run of form as she began the grass court season with a comeback win over Suzan Lamens. The match went to a decider, and Potapova looked on the verge of an early exit as she went 4-1 down. However, she reeled off the final five games in a row to seal a 6-7 (5) 6-4 6-4 victory. The 25-year-old advanced to the round-of-16 at Roland Garros and is now back inside the top 30 of the world rankings.

Her next opponent is Zeynep Sonmez. The Turk defeated Katie Volynets in the first-round. Sonmez comfortably went ahead after set one, but Volynets won five games in a row to level the match. Sonmez raced clear at the start of the decider, going 3-0 up, and she managed to hold off a late Volynets fightback to win 6-3 2-6 6-3.

Potapova leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a victory in Beijing last year. She is picking up results at the moment, and that fightback in her first-round match will give her an injection of belief and confidence ahead of this one.
