Anastasia Potapova vs Marina Stakusic prediction

Anastasia Potapova will be seeking to end a three-match losing run at Indian Wells. She did find form at the Australian Open, defeating Emma Raducanu and testing world number one Aryna Sabalenka in their third-round encounter. She then followed that up with a quarter-final finish in Cluj-Napoca. However, she has since been defeated in the early stages of Dubai and Merida without winning a set.

She faces Marina Stakusic in the first-round. The Canadian was able to advance through the qualifying stages, after two straight sets victories over Viktorija Golubic and Mananchaya Sawangkaew. Stakusic also qualified for the Australian Open earlier this season, though had to retire from her first-round match against Priscilla Hon. She competed at the Merida Open last week, reaching the second-round.

Potapova has far more tour-level experience, but Stakusic does have momentum on her side from those qualifying wins and will look to go on the offensive during the early stages of the match.
