Anastasia Potapova vs Lilli Tagger prediction

Lilli Tagger thrilled the home crowd by taking out another big name in Linz.

The Austrian teenager followed up her straight sets success over Paula Badosa with a 6-2 7-6 victory against third seed Liudmila Samsonova. 

The 18-year-old world number 108 will now break into the top 100 for the first time next week, but will hope to go even further at this event when she meets fellow Austrian and 2023 champion, Anastasia Potapova.

The world number 97 will be the favourite in terms of overall pedigree and swept to a 6-2 6-1 win over Tamara Korpatsch, but there is little between them in terms of ranking now. 

At 25 years of age, Potapova will want to put her young compatriot in her place and maintain her ranking as her country’s number one. It may be a tense encounter with bragging rights also on the line and we expect experience will be key with Anastasia coming out on top.
