Anastasia Potapova vs Emma Raducanu prediction

Anastasia Potapova pulled off an incredible comeback to book her place in the second-round of the Australian Open. She looked down and out at a set and 5-1 down against Suzan Lamens but reeled off six games in a row and dominated the decider to win 3-6 7-5 6-2 after two hours and 12 minutes.

She faces Emma Raducanu next. The British number one recovered from a slow start to beat Mananchaya Sawangkaew in straight sets. She was broken early and went 4-2 down in the first set but then turned the match completely on its head by winning seven games in a row. Raducanu raced clear to win 6-4 6-1. 

Raducanu produced an encouraging level towards the end of the match, but she cannot afford a similarly poor start against Potapova, who will provide a tougher test. The Briton’s higher peak level on the hard courts gives her the edge here.
