Anastasia Potapova vs Amanda Anisimova prediction

Anastasia Potapova reached the third-round of the US Open after a three set win over Leolia Jeanjean. The 24th seed struggled for consistency at times, finishing with 54 unforced errors and eight double faults, but she still came through to win 6-2 2-6 6-3. Potapova made the decisive move at 3-3, breaking Jeanjean before eventually sealing victory with another break.

She will face 2025 finalist Amanda Anismova in the next stage of the tournament. The American also required three sets to get past teenager Lilli Tagger. After losing control in the second, Anisimova responded emphatically as she raced 4-0 clear in the decider and claimed a 6-3 3-6 6-1 win after two hours and one minute. She has now won 17 of her 25 matches on hard courts this season.

Both players possess serious firepower, but Anisimova’s ability to take the ball early could punish Potapova if the Austrian produces another error-strewn performance.
