Zheng Qinwen returns to the scene of her greatest triumph to kick off her quest for Grand Slam glory. 

The Chinese star won Olympic Gold at Roland-Garros just under a year ago and comes in with good prep following a run to the quarter-finals in Houston and the semi-finals in Rome. 

In contrast, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova has only won one of her last six matches and sits just outside the world’s top 50.

The 33-year-old Russian can be a handful on her day - and did beat the Chinese in their only previous meeting in Cincinnati last year - but Zheng’s firepower and current confidence on this surface will surely be too much as she looks to return to Paris with a bang.
