Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova vs Kamilla Rakhimova prediction

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova defeated Kimberly Birrell 7-5 7-5 in the round-of-16 of Eastbourne to make the last eight. The Russian was a break down in the middle of the first but came back to lead. Birrell also had her opportunities in the second set as she served for it at 5-4 but Pavlyuchenkova showed great fight to win the next three service games and record a straight sets win. Pavlyuchenkova has struggled for the majority of the season so far but finally makes her first quarter-final since her fine run at the Australian Open.

Kamilla Rakhimova is into the quarter-finals of a WTA Tour event for the first time this season as she beat Peyton Stearns in straight sets. The Russian was 4-2 down in the second set as Stearns plotted a comeback but reeled off four straight games to seal a 6-3 6-4 victory.

Rakhimova has four wins this week including qualifying and holds a healthy 6-2 win-loss record on grass this season. She is performing at a strong level this week and will fancy her chances against Pavlyuchenkova.
