Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova vs Aoi Ito prediction

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova enjoyed a fine run at Wimbledon by reaching the quarter-finals, but she struggled on her return last week after a short rest between events as she was eliminated in her opening match against Eva Lys.

That loss in Montreal will have frustrated her as while she has reached the quarters in two Grand Slam events this year, her form in the WTA 1000 events has been miserable.

The 34-year-old is proving to be wildly inconsistent right now, making it incredibly hard to have any confidence in predicting her matches.

She meets the up-and-coming 21-year-old Aoi Ito who is enjoying a good season and she comes off an excellent week in Montreal which was highlighted by a three-set win over Jasmine Paolini. That win will give her all kinds of confidence and she will not be fazed coming into this one against Pavlyuchenkova.

We like Ito’s chances in this one. The Japanese starlet is playing much better on hard courts than the Russian and she can spring an upset against the 27th-seed.
