Amanda Anisimova vs Sofia Kenin prediction

Sixth seed Amanda Anisimova was tested at times in her first-round contest with Grand Slam debutant Lina Gjorcheska, but the American ultimately had too much power for the 31-year-old as she wrapped up a 6-3, 6-2 victory.

The runner-up at SW19 last year and a two-time Grand Slam finalist overall, Anisimova is becoming a mainstay at the latter end of the big events, and she will certainly back herself to continue her progress through the draw.

She now faces compatriot Sofia Kenin, who overcame Petra Marcinko 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 in the opening round.

A former world number four, Kenin is generally not a fan of playing on the grass and has never progressed beyond the third round at Wimbledon despite this being her seventh participation.

Kenin may have won both of her previous meetings with Anisimova, but none of those were on grass, and two of those matches took place in 2017. Their careers have gone in opposite directions since then, so we're expecting a fairly comfortable win for Anisimova.
