Alina Korneeva vs Polina Kudermetova prediction
Alina Korneeva continued her impressive campaign as the 19-year-old qualified for the Canadian Open after coming from a set down to beat Mary Stoiana. Korneeva also shone in Athens last month, beating the likes of Ann Li and Tereza Valentova to reach her first ever semi-final on the WTA Tour. Her run ended against former world number two Maria Sakkari.
Polina Kudermetova has featured far more on the ITF circuit in comparison to 2025, and that has resulted in a better run of form. She has been unable to pick up a title, but she has reached two finals along with another semi-final. She also picked up tour-level victories in Charleston and Washington. Kudermetova is now back inside the top 100 of the live WTA rankings, and she will be hoping for her first victory at 1000 level this season.
Kudermetova seems to have regained some consistency, but it’s difficult to look past Korneeva, who has four wins from her last five matches overall.
