Aliaksandra Sasnovich continued her bright start to the season as she pulled off an upset by defeating Clara Tauson in straight sets. Tauson is ranked nearly 100 places above her opponent but the match was dominated by Sasnovich, who wasn’t broken on serve and conceded just one break point as she won 6-2 6-3 after one hour and 21 minutes.

The teenager made a fast start as she raced to a 3-0 lead, but Samsonova recovered well to win six of the next seven games to take the first set.
