Alexei Popyrin vs Raphael Collignon prediction

Alexei Popyrin is set to play his first grass court match of the season, having most recently suffered a first-round exit at Roland Garros to Zachary Svajda. That would have been a disappointment for the Australian, who reached the quarter-finals of the Geneva Open just a few days earlier. Popyrin’s ranking has slid to number 90 in the world overall.

He will take on Raphael Collignon. The Belgian qualified for this event after wins over Aziz Dougaz and Roberto Bautista Agut. Collignon pulled off an upset at the French Open as he beat Ben Shelton in the second-round, but he would go on to lose to Matteo Arnaldi in a five set epic in the next stage of the tournament.

Collignon is searching for his first tour-level victory on grass, and he will take some encouragement from how he played in those two qualifying matches. Popyrin has the greater experience on the surface, but Collignon already has grass court matches under his belt, and he will be ready from the off here.
