Alexei Popyrin vs Jack Draper prediction
Alexei Popyrin squandered the opportunity to wrap up a victory in straight sets against compatriot Aleksander Vukic in the first-round but eventually got the job done in the decider. The Australian missed several match points in the second set tiebreak but still came out on top, winning 6-2 6-7 7-6.
He now takes on Jack Draper in the round-of-16. The Brit began his grass court season in comfortable fashion as he beat Jenson Brooksby 6-3 6-1 after just one hour and 19 minutes. Draper took a few service games to find his range but quickly began to dominate. It was also a very strong serving performance from the world number four, who lost just one point on his first serve during the first set and didn’t give up a break point during the whole match.
They have played once before but this will be their first meeting on grass. It was earlier this year, with Draper defeating Popyrin in straight sets on his way to making the final of the Qatar Open.
Popyrin will be a tougher opponent for the Briton, but we still can’t see anything other than a comfortable win for Draper.
