Alexei Popyrin vs Felix Auger-Aliassime prediction
Alexei Popyrin is experiencing one of the toughest moments of his career as he is currently on a nine match losing run, having last won a match on the tour last August. He came close to a win in the first-round of the Australian Open, but lost in five sets to Alexandre Muller. He then dropped down to play in the Manama Challenger as the top seed, but lost in straight sets to Ugo Blanchet.
It doesn’t get any easier for the Australian as he faces second seed and 2022 champion Felix Auger-Aliassime here. The Canadian suffered an early exit in Melbourne but bounced back in the best possible way last week as he retained his title at the Open Occitanie to win his ninth tour-level event. The world number six was not broken in any of his last three matches, and will hope to continue the momentum in Rotterdam.
Popyrin does lead the head-to-head 2-0 after wins in the early part of 2023, but fortunes have certainly changed since then, and Auger-Aliassime is the overwhelming favourite in this one.
Alexei Popyrin vs Felix Auger-Aliassime tip: Felix Auger-Aliassime to win 2-0
