Alexei Popyrin did not get his grass court season off to the best start as he lost to Zizou Bergs in the first-round of the Libema Open. He will want to improve upon his record at Queen’s after losing early on last year to retiring Andy Murray.
Aleksander Vukic also lost in the first-round of the Libema Open as he was defeated by Gabriel Diallo with the Canadian going on to win the tournament. Vukic also suffered an early defeat at the Birmingham Classic a week earlier in his first grass court event of the season. Despite those two defeats, the Australian did manage to qualify for this event with consecutive straight set victories.
Vukic has struggled for form ever since reaching the third-round of the Australian Open in January and Popyrin, who is ranked over 60 places higher than his fellow Aussie, will be expected to win in straight sets. He’s good value to pick up his first win on grass this season in this match.
