Alexandre Muller vs Stefanos Tsitsipas prediction
Alexandre Muller squeezed through against Jiri Lehecka to advance to the second-round, defeating the Czech 2-6 6-3 7-6 after coming from a set down and a break down in the decider.
He now takes on 2022 Rome Open finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Greek is struggling on clay, having only made the quarter-finals of the Monte-Carlo Masters this year after winning the title during the previous campaign. He then retired at the beginning of his next last-eight match in Barcelona against Arthur Fils before a defeat to Musetti once more in Madrid in the third-round.
Clay used to be a surface in which Tsitsipas thrived, having won three Monte-Carlo titles and reached the final of the French Open in 2021, but his lack of form on the surface is contributing to the two-time Grand Slam finalist’s decline in the world rankings. He is currently ranked 18 in the world and it outside the top 10 for the first time since late 2018.
Despite his recent struggles, Tsitsipas should have more than enough to win comfortably here.
