Alexandra Eala vs Ekaterina Alexandrova prediction

Alexandra Eala will try to feed off the energy of the crowd again when she meets second seed Ekaterina Alexandrova in the last eight.

The Filipino star leaned on a raucous fan base to roar her to victory as she hit back from 0-4 in the decider, saving match point along the way, to prevail 2-6 6-4 7-6 against Aliaksandra Sasnovich.

It was much more routine for Alexandrova as she spent almost two hours less on court in a 6-3 6-0 demolition of Dayana Yastremska. 

This will be the Russian’s first meeting with world number 45, Eala and she can point to less fatigue and perhaps a more solid all-round game at present. 

If Eala gets the same Davis Cup style support it may propel her towards another gritty win, but the smart money is on Alexandrova to have a bit more in the tank on the day.
