Alexander Zverev vs Yannick Hanfmann prediction
Alexander Zverev began his Halle Open campaign with a three set win over Vit Kopriva. This was the German’s first match back since winning his first Grand Slam title at Roland Garros, and he made the perfect start by winning the first set. However, he was pegged back in the second as Kopriva extended the encounter. Nevertheless, the 29-year-old responded well to win 6-3 4-6 6-2 after two hours and 10 minutes.
He will face compatriot Yannick Hanfmann in the next round after he comfortably got past Joao Fonseca in his opening match. Fonseca was competing in his first match since a quarter-final appearance at the French Open, but he was out of sorts as Hanfmann won 6-2 6-2. This was his 100th tour-level victory.
Zverev leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a victory in Munich, but that match took place eight years ago. The world number three is a clear favourite in this one.
