Alexander Zverev vs Tommy Paul prediction
Alexander Zverev has had to battle through his opening two matches in Cincinnati against Cam Norrie and then Terence Atmane and it does not get any easier in the round of 16 against Tommy Paul.
Zverev was taken to three sets by Cam Norrie and then had to come through two tiebreaks to beat Atmane with neither match being overly comfortable.
Tommy Paul had to dig deep also in his third round match against Adolfo Daniel Vallejo who broke him three times but the American eventually progressed in three sets.
For two relative veterans, it is surprising to see the pair have only met three times on the ATP Tour and it is Paul who edges the H2H 2-1. Zverev won the most recent encounter however at the Australian Open and he has to be favoured to win this time around too.
He will need to step up his performance levels, but Tommy Paul is not in the best of form right now and we favour Zverev to win.
