Frenchman Terence Atmane, who is ranked number 45 in the world, benefitted from Marton Fucscovics’ withdrawal from their first round tie before earning an impressive 6-3, 7-6 victory over world number 31 Tomas Martin Etcheverry.
Without Jannik Sinner and the injured Carlos Alcaraz, Zverev is the number one seed for this tournament and he could do with fine tuning aspects of his game with Norrie frustrating him on occasion but the German remains firm favourite for a comfortable win here in the third round of the Cincinnati Open.
