Alexander Zverev vs Luciano Darderi prediction

Alexander Zverev looks to have found another gear ahead of a third career meeting with Luciano Darderi.

The top seed was forced to go five in his first two outings in New York but was much more consistent in a 6-2 7-6 6-2 victory over Alejandro Tabilo last time out.

Darderi has already beaten Zverev in 2026 after defeating the German in Rome, although the head-to-head stands at 1-1 with both previous encounters taking place on clay.

The 21st seed was way too strong for Dane Sweeny last time out, but this match-up on a hardcourt will certainly favour Sascha.

The bad news for Darderi is that the reigning French Open champion appears to have found his Mojo heading into the second week too, and this could well be another straight sets success for the higher ranked player if he serves well again.
