Alexander Zverev vs Lorenzo Sonego prediction

Lorenzo Sonego will hope to it’s a case of lucky number seven as he bids to produce a massive shock at the US Open.

The Italian trails top seed Alexander Zverev 6-0 in their head-to-head and has only ever won two sets against the reigning French Open champion.

The German hasn’t exactly hit full throttle since reaching the Wimbledon final but does now have the monkey off his back in terms of landing what had been an elusive Major crown and with Jannik Sinner absent and Carlos Alcaraz only just back from injury, he will strongly fancy his chances in New York.

World number 91 Sonego is a bit of a maverick but his best years appear to be behind him and the 31-year-old has only managed 11 wins so far this year. He may have his moments but it won’t be enough against the relentless consistency of the big-serving world number two, who has a clear game-plan that works in this match-up.

Alexander Zverev vs Lorenzo Sonego tip: Alexander Zverev to win3-0
