Alexander Zverev vs Jannik Sinner prediction
Alexander Zverev snapped his five match losing run against Daniil Medvedev in the quarter-finals of the Paris Masters to continue the defence of his title. Zverev was outperformed in the first set but regrouped well after going an early break down in the second to level the match up. He showed great mental strength to save two match points as he served to stay in the match, before producing the goods in the tiebreak to win 2-6 6-3 7-6 (5).
He faces world number two Jannik Sinner next. Sinner produced his most impressive performance of the event so far as she comfortably got past Ben Shelton in straight sets. The Italian put in another strong serving display, only conceding one break point and having a first serve percentage of 75%. He won 6-3 6-3 after an hour and nine minutes.
The head-to-head is locked at 4-4, though Sinner has won the last three meetings. They faced each other just last week in the final of the Vienna Open, with the four-time Grand Slam champion coming from a set down to win. Sinner also defeated Zverev in the final of this year’s Australian Open. The match against Medvedev may have taken quite a lot out of Zverev, with Sinner already showing that he can brush aside high-quality opponents despite not being at his best this week.
This may not be quite as close as the final in Vienna, with Sinner on a 24-match unbeaten run indoors and a heavy favourite to win.
