Alexander Zverev vs Carlos Alcaraz prediction

Carlos Alcaraz needed to once again showcase his fighting qualities as he edged Andrey Rublev to reach the last four in Cincinnati. 

The Spaniard overcame a real wobble to prevail 6-3 4-6 7-5 and extend his winning streak in Masters 1000 tournaments to 15 matches. 

The world number two will now face third seed Alexander Zverev after the German ended Toronto champion Ben Shelton’s run with a dominant 6-2 6-2 victory. 

This will be a 12th meeting between the pair with Zverev leading the match-up 6-5 overall, while it is finely poised at 2-2 on an outdoor hardcourt.

The German appeared to have some physical issues despite a convincing win over Shelton, but he will be buoyed by Alcaraz’s topsy-turvy in-match form. 

If the Spaniard turns it on he’s likely to come out on top, but if Zverev recovers and serves well it could be his moment. 

It may be worth taking in the opening set before placing your bet in this one given the fitness concerns, but it has the potential to go the distance if both play at a high level.
