Alexander Zverev vs Cameron Norrie prediction
Cameron Norrie will hope it’s a case of lucky number seven as he plots a shock win over 2025 finalist Alexander Zverev in the third round.
The British number two fought off a valiant fight back from Emilio Nava to prevail 6-1 7-6 4-6 7-6 and avoid having to play back-to-back five-setters.
Norrie will be well aware of the task ahead of him given he trails 6-0 in the head-to-head with the German world number three.
The 26th seed has lost five of those encounters in straight sets, but perhaps the other loss will give him reason for hope. That defeat was in five-sets at this very tournament back in 2024 with Norrie pushing Zverev all the way to a final set tie-break.
The third seed has dropped a set in both of his matches so far this year at Melbourne Park but he has faced tricky customers in the shape of Gabriel Diallo and Alexandre Muller.
That means he is already battle-hardened with the only question mark being how his ankle recovers after requiring a medical time-out against Muller.
If it offers no issues to his movement then the 18 aces and 45 winners against the Frenchman suggests he will have the firepower to once again overwhelm the Brit, who will be ready to scrap but will need Sascha to have an off day to make an impact.
Alexander Zverev vs Cameron Norrie tip: Alexander Zverev to win 3-0
