The top seed eased to a 6-1 7-6 win over Aleksandar Kovacevic to reach the round of 16 where he will battle the Frenchman for the third time in his career.
Zverev has won both of their previous meetings without dropping a set, including a dominant 6-4 6-1 victory in Munich recently.
