Alexander Zverev vs Alejandro Tabilo prediction
Alexander Zverev made some deep runs at the Masters events in the lead up to the final slam of the year but he is still yet to win a big title on tour this season. He went close in Toronto as the top seed but could not win a second Canadian Open as he lost to Karen Khachanov in the semi-finals despite having a match point. He reached the same stage of Cincinnati but was clearly struggling with an injury against Carlos Alcaraz, as he lost in straight sets.
He will face Alejandro Tabilo in round one. The Chilean was out for two months with an injury, making his return in Cincinnati but losing in the first-round. He also failed to make it out of qualifying for the Winston-Salem Open last week. Tabilo’s run to the semi-final of the Italian Open last year saw him get to 19 in the world, but he’s now ranked outside the top 100.
The head-to-head is 1-0 in Zverev’s favour, as he won that semi-final at the Italian Open last year on his way to winning the tournament. The 2020 runner up should make light work of his opponent in the first-round.
