Alexander Bublik showed no hangover from his title in Gstaad as he eased into the Generali Open last eight with a win over Thiago Agustin Tirante.

The top seed notched a 6-3 6-4 success against the Argentine to set up an all-Kazakh clash with Alexander Shevchenko.

The world number 110 impressed again as he shocked eighth seed Marton Fucsovics 7-5 6-4.

This is the third meeting between the pair with Bublik winning 6-2 6-3 en route to his title triumph in Gstaad just days ago.

The world number 30 also won in Montpellier last year and we don’t see Shevchenko changing the narrative here, despite a thirst for revenge.

Bublik will be keen to maintain the Kazakh bragging rights as his country's top dog and remain on course to push for another title.
