Alexander Blockx vs Justin Engel prediction

Alexander Blockx won two Challenger titles this season and the young Belgian reached his highest ranking of 101 just last month. He also made progress on the ATP Tour, as he qualified for the Cincinnati Open and picked up his maiden tour-level victory after his win in the first-round. His second would arrive towards the end of the season, as he won his first-round match in Metz.

Justin Engel enters the tournament as the eighth seed following Jakub Mensik’s withdrawal. He is the youngest player in the draw, having turned 18 just two months ago. In June, he became the second youngest player since 1990, after Rafael Nadal, to win a tour-level match on three surfaces and he also overtook Joao Fonseca as the youngest player to win a Challenger event this year after success in Hamburg two months ago. 

Blockx should be considered as the favourite given his higher ranking and experience, but Engel will be heading into this one with nothing to lose.
