Alexander Blockx vs Alexander Zverev prediction
Alexander Blockx has not featured since he sustained an injury in training at Roland Garros. Blockx had swept aside Coleman Wong in his first-round match, but was then forced to withdraw after spraining his ankle. That was a big blow for the Belgian after one of the best runs of his career, which included a run to the semi-finals at the Madrid Open. This will be his first main draw appearance at Wimbledon.
He takes on world number three Alexander Zverev. The German finally won his first Grand Slam at Roland Garros earlier this month, and he decided to compete in Halle a few weeks later on grass. He would lose in the semi-finals to Taylor Fritz. The 29-year-old does not have the best record at SW19, having never progressed beyond the round-of-16 despite making his debut back in 2015.
Zverev leads the head-to-head 2-0 after two wins in Madrid and Rome within a week of each other. The Belgian’s level is currently unknown after a spell out, and Zverev already knows how to beat him.
