Alex Molcan vs Daniel Altmaier prediction
Alex Molcan qualified for the Mallorca Championships last week and had the opportunity to seal victory over Fabian Marozsan in round one, but he went on to lose the match in three sets. His best result on the ATP Tour this season was a semi-final at the Bucharest Open, but he is still ranked just outside the top 100 in the world rankings. Molcan advanced to the third-round at Wimbledon four years ago.
His opponent in the first-round is Daniel Altmaier. The German is enjoying his best run on grass under the tutelage of new coach Dustin Brown. Altmaier impressed in Halle, beating Hubert Hurkacz and former world number one Daniil Medvedev to reach the semi-finals, where his run would end against Frances Tiafoe. The only slight concern for Altmaier is that he was forced to retire midway through his match in Eastbourne against Zizou Bergs.
If Altmaier is fit and firing, he will be the favourite to defeat Molcan in round one.
