Alex Michelsen has achieved some credible results in the lead up to Wimbledon on grass. He defeated Francisco Cerundolo and former world number three Stefanos Tsitsipas on his way to reaching the quarter-finals of Halle, where he lost to Daniil Medvedev. The American then backed it up by making the last four of the Mallorca Championships without the drop of a set.
In contrast, Miomir Kecmanovic has been unable to generate any momentum ahead of the third Grand Slam of the year. He lost in the first-round of Halle despite taking the first set against Fabian Marozsan and then fell to a disappointing defeat at the Eastbourne International to Great Britain’s Dan Evans. Despite this poor form, the Serb has reached the third-round of Wimbledon in two of the last three years.
He also leads the head-to-head 1-0, having won their match in the semi-final of the Delray Beach Open earlier this year, though this will be their first meeting on grass.
Michelsen is in the better form of the two and is likely to win a ton of free points with that serve of his. His game is suited to grass and he is primed to pick up his first win at Wimbledon.
